FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE

The Fellowship Committee creates an atmosphere of Christian fellowship by overseeing and organizing a variety of church events and programs.  Many of our members also participate or support other events sponsored by other groups of the church.  The committee, co-chaired by Douglas Kearns and Bryan Virgin, meets the third Monday of the month at 7:30 PM in Room #204 and always welcomes new members.

The Fellowship Committee organized or assisted with the following events during 2007:

January – First meeting of the year was filled with introductions, filling of new positions, overviews of what the committee does and brief discussions of the year’s upcoming events.  The committee also agreed to continue providing one dinner per week during the times when CUPC host the IHN Ministry.

February –The Committee hosted the first Karaoke Night.  It was a great success filled with Christian love and singing.

March –The Committee hosted the Church’s Lenten Potluck Dinner. After dinner entertainment was provided by CUPC’s fantastic Drama Ministry Team. Praise God for the talents we have been blessed with in this church and those willing to share their talents with the church.

April –The Committee served Easter Brunch from 9:30AM - 10:45AM.

May –On Mother's Day, the Committee gave Mothers a gift (cross key chain).

June - On Father’s Day, the Committee honored fathers and other men with a small gift (cross key chain).  The committee hosted a Ladies Brunch with a guest speaker.

August –The Committee hosted the Annual Church Picnic.  It was a rainy day; however, the committee filled the afternoon with many games, contests, fellowship and good food.

December - The Committee hosted the annual Advent Dinner. Following dinner all attending were entertained by CUPC’s fantastic Drama Ministry Team.  We were also dazzled by a Christmas Laser Light Show presented by George Dodworth.  The Christmas Laser Light show was presented 4 times this year with more interest and success than last year.

Christian fellowship is one of the greatest blessings God can give to us.  It is not only food but it is also a hug, a prayer, an attentive ear, a laugh, a word of encouragement, and even a word of appreciation.  The Fellowship Committee would like to offer a special thank you to the Drama Ministry Team and the Kitchen Committee and a special thanks to Christine Jackson and Gary Lucas for their culinary assistance.  The Fellowship Committee prayerfully anticipates 2008 with new Leadership, members and ideas while thanking God for giving us the abilities to serve the church family and the community.  We would greatly appreciate and welcome anyone who is willing to serve and have fun along with us in service and obedience to our Lord.
