Active Christian Seniors

February 11, 2007 was “Tools & Blankets” Sunday.  Donations from the congregation purchased tools and blankets to help create hope to people in need.  We collected $1,554.00 for this outreach project sponsored by Church World Service.

General George Washington, portrayed by Mr. Bryan Cunning, visited us on February 12th following our President’s Day Luncheon.

Our March luncheon’s entertainment was Don Roach of the Nova Singers. Don serenaded us with several Irish songs.

The ACS members hosted coffee hour and greeted at both services on May 6th in honor of Older Adults week.

Our spring trip “Bedford County Dine Around” proved to be a tasty outing as we visited 5 different dining establishments.

On June 11th, Washington Area Senior Citizens entertained us with their songs and dance.

Major Frank O’Shinsky, church member, shared his Iraq experiences with us following the September 10th luncheon.

In October, we headed to Lancaster, PA for our fall trip. A visit to the Millennium Theater to see “In the Beginning” and a stop at the Biblical Tabernacle proved to be well worth the travel.

CUPC’s own “The Faithful Five” entertained us following our November 12th luncheon.

On December 10th, Rev. Cathy Peternel, Canonsburg General Hospital’s chaplain, dramatized Mary, mother of Jesus.

You need not be a “Senior Citizen” to partake in all the luncheons, entertainment and trips. The next time something catches your eye, feel free to join us!
