What A Smooth Ride!
“We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” - Hebrews 6:12
Wow, what a smooth ride!
If you blinked in the past few days, you may have missed it, but our parking lot has been completely repaved and re-lined!
For those who aren’t familiar, the large borough parking lot between the Post Office and Northwest Bank, is owned by the church, but leased to the Borough of Canonsburg. This allows the Borough to collect much-needed revenue for parking permits and in turn, they maintain it (snow removal, paving, etc).
Over time and with much use, the parking lot deteriorated. Everyone knew this… but it costs a lot to repave a parking lot! As a community member or church member, casually driving by or parking in the lot during the week, you might think it nothing was being done - you might even get anxious or frustrated.
What when you see nothing on the surface, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a flurry of activity underneath!
Sure enough, under the surface, behind the scenes, a lot of work and planning has been going on - by church trustees and borough leaders - to get to the point, where in the blink of an eye, the parking lot was ground up, repaved and re-lined in 72 hours!
A huge debt of gratitude is owed to Mayor Rhome and the Borough Council, Tom Lawrence and the Public Works team and John Walker and the CUPC Trustees for all their work behind the scenes! How exciting it is to see civic and church leaders, work together for the betterment of a community! How awesome it is to be a part of a community where it happens!
It happens here in Canonsburg.
It may take some time. It may require patience on the part of us as a community, but good things happen when we work together. And we are, working together, and
