See You at 10:00 AM!

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?” – Matthew 7:9-10
Dear Friends,Permit me a moment to celebrate – on Monday night, Brennan arrived home from college after completing his Freshman year.  While final grades haven’t been submitted… he’s fairly certain he passed everything.  But regardless of that, we were just excited to see him!  When you couple that with the moving Confirmation and Youth-led worship service on Sunday, it’s been an exciting and emotional few days for us – and I hope for you too!

I’ve heard from lots of people, just how wonderful worship was on Sunday, to be led by our children and youth, to hear some of their faith journeys, to see their passion singing and sharing.  And it’s not just about our kids.  I love it how the entire church, the entire community takes pride in these kids – they ask about them, they’re excited for them, they celebrate them, they love them – because all of them are “our kids.”  And we want good things for them.  And when we hear good things from them, we’re encouraged!

And one more way to be encouraged this Summer is our SINGLE 10am Worship Service, where we’ll gather all together!  If you’re normally an early-riser, this gives you a little extra quiet time in the morning – sip your coffee, enjoy some silence, or get in a jog or a walk in the beautiful cool of a summer morning, before coming to church.  If you’re normally a late-crowd, this gives you a chance to get to lunch a little earlier than normal – you’ll beat the other church lunch-ers, and can make even have brunch because you’ll be there before noon!  Either way, this summer offers an opportunity for a ton of encouragement as we gather together with friends, new and old, that we might not regularly connect with.

What’s important to remember, is that everyone’s there looking for the same thing – to encounter God, be encouraged, and to experience the joy and peace God offers in Jesus Christ.  And that’s the case, even for those who sat in your seat!

God wants all those good things for us as well, and they’re in abundance when we’re gathered together, filling up the sanctuary with a joyful noise in music and song and smiles and laughter.  And I hope this Sunday, you find what you’re looking for, among us in worship!

For those who are traveling over the Memorial Day Weekend, and won’t be in-the-room for worship – catch us on YouTube or Facebook, or better yet, gather with a local church wherever you are on Saturday night or Sunday morning or whenever they’re meeting.  And we’ll look forward to seeing you when you return – gaining encouragement from your presence among us!

Welcoming You to Grow in Jesus – at 10am this Summer,

Pastor Don
