God Never Leaves Us

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31
Dear Friends,

What an absolutely wonderful celebration Easter Sunday was!  From the music, led by Kenton & Megan and our Chancel Choir – not to mention the congregation belting out the hymns, to Barb & Drew as lay leaders, the many sanctuary greeters – to the wonderful Easter Brunch, hosted by Barb, Bea, Luann, Markus, Pam and our Gather to Grow Team!  Sunday was spectacular!  And here’s a little tidbit – we had more people gathered for worship (402) than we’ve had since Easter 2019 – that’s six years ago!  And in the past decade, we’ve only had 400 or more ten times.  We were part of something special Sunday, there’s no doubt.

God continues to do something special in our midst!

When I ended Sunday’s service, I asked the question – If God never leaves us… what does it mean for us going forward?  What’s next?

While I can’t answer that for each of us, specifically, and I continue to encourage you to think about that question, to look for God with you in your daily life… For the next few weeks, we’re going to look at stories of God, of Jesus, showing up to people after the resurrection.

Before You Go… 5 Stories of Jesus after the Resurrection, is going to focus on Mary’s encounter with Jesus in the garden, the two men walking the road to Emmaus, Jesus showing up to Thomas, the miraculous catch of fish and Jesus’ Great Commission.  Each of these stories are unique and Jesus has something beautiful to say to each of them, and to us through them.

I think God’s got something really special in store for us – as a church, but also for us individually in the days and years ahead.  I don’t know what it is – I can barely tell what’s going to happen in the next ten minutes, let alone what’s going on tomorrow or next year.  But the signs of beauty and goodness, the signs of God’s presence are real and true.

Keep looking for them!  Keep looking for Jesus!  Keep your eyes open.  And when you see it – when you see Jesus – share it!

Welcoming You to Grow in Jesus, one beautiful sight at a time!
